Blue Lagoon

Fairies, magical leprechauns and humanity's kindness seems a figment of imagination in todays tumultuous world, but Iceland seems to encompass everything magical in 39,769 miles squared (103,000 kilometers squared). During the winter, snow settles into silky gradients that quietly covers Iceland's terrain. And  when the sky becomes luminous and blends together seamlessly with the land you lose a sense of where you are and where you're going but you can't seem to care. It is SO INSANELY beautiful, I can't even begin to describe it with words. A person has to experience it to understand it.
One of the beauties in Iceland that has drawn me to the country was the Blue Lagoon. I have seen so many photos of this hot spring and felt a sense of wanderlust.  Photos of bikini clad ladies soaking in the azure water while snow romantically falls around them? Yes. Please. To get one thing straight though, a lot of tourists go there. While at the Blue Lagoon, I didn't meet a single local that day, but it is worth it. Everyone is so nice and you get to connect with people that share similar curiosities of exploration. The water is as startlingly blue as you can imagine. The set up of the Blue Lagoon places bars within the water, so after trekking through inches snow during the trip, finally being able to soak in a spa while enjoying a drink was paradise. If any of you guys ever go, I know you'll have so much fun. Also, don't forget the water makes alcohol much stronger so stand up slowly ;)
